In Jose Nieves, you see another great Puerto Rican champion in the making. Nieves started boxing at the young age of 13. He soon demonstrated the skills of a young champion, becoming the Puerto Rican champion in five different weight classes. Nieves had an amateur record of 44-4 and placed first in many national and international tournaments.
Since becoming pro at the age of 20, Nieves has not looked back. In his first 7 of 8 bouts, Jose Nieves won via knockout, demonstrating the power that made him a five-time champion.
In his most recent bouts he has faced seasoned boxing veterans Sergio Santillan and Angel Priolo. Nieves completely dominated in these two bouts, showing the boxing community he is ready for any opponent put in front of him.
Nieves currently has an undefeated record of 16-0-2, 8 KOs in the bantamweight division. Soon Puerto Rico will crown another champion.
