Hydrogen Level Diagram
Please explain. What is the maximum number of covalent bonds an element with atomic number 12 can make with:?
* can make with Hydrogen???
a)1
b) 2
c)3
d)4
e)5
I’m confused, I drew the diagram. First level has 2 max electrons. then I drew the second level. It contains 8. That makes 10 electrons so far. Then the third level had the remaining 2 electrons for Mg. And Hydrogen has only 1 electron? So why would it need to share? I need someone to explain this to me. How does Hydrogen Make a covalent bond with this? Does each level consist of max electrons that represent each covalent bond?? PLEASE explain this to me
thanks!
i think 5 but text 242-242 and get the answer. its free!
