Infected hangnail?!?
Ok, well I stubbed my toe while gardening on Sunday and i had to clip the nail but, there was a hangnail. I pulled that out with tweezers and on Monday afternoon I noticed there was a lot of pus and it was bloody. I poured Hydrogen peroxide on it and then put a band-aid on it but still, there has been a lot of pus and blood. As I type this, its throbbing. My mother said to clean it and leave it alone and I have been but its been hurting more and more. Does anyone know what I should do? Doctor, over the counter pain reliefs, etc?? Please help I want to avoid the worst outcome which is amputation. Thanks!
The peroxide is good.
After it dries, put a triple antibiotic on it, then a nice gauze bandage to catch the drainage. That should make the infection draw out of the toe.
