Hydrogen Smack
Is Hydrogen peroxide an acid? What about chicken broth?

Another problem I came across during my experiment (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aj47nR4EzCApIG0g0BRnQ4kjzKIX?qid=20070107095619AAr4f4x) was that both liquids turned purple with cabbage juice (pink = acid, purple = neutral, green = base). However, the litmus paper showed that the pH of both was smack between acid and neutral (6-7). Thanks to matahari and novae2, I know that a purple cabbage juice result could also mean a slightly acidic substance. So, please share your opinions ASAP and if possible, provide some scientific support. Thanks! =)

Hydrogen peroxide is a weak acid. 1M = pH 3.3 which makes it weaker than acetic acid (vinegar). Cabbage juice is not an accurate indicator, especially if the pH is only one point away from neutral.
